drive.ai

Self Driving Car start-up, acquired by Apple in June 2019

Frisco Deployment

In the Spring of 2018 Drive.ai deployed their self-driving vehicles in Frisco, Texas.

In preparation I assisted with the redo of our van wrap iteratively: improved color, removed one ribbon from original design, smoothed & reshaped remaining ribbons.

Following the deployment, I designed simplified maps of the Frisco Route, used for Business Development & Marketing presentations, as well as pamphlets for the Texas Freedom Fest, explaining who we are as a company, our prioritization of safety, and our overall service.

Arlington / Texas Live Deployment

After the successful deployment of the vans in Frisco, Drive.ai set sights on a second location, Arlington, Texas, this time focusing on a ride sharing / taxi service for the public.

Designed simplified maps of the Arlington Routes, used for Business Development & Marketing presentations.

Designed and selected products for installing mobile kiosks to hail the van around Arlington, including AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Park, and Texas Live!

Designed an instructional banner that aids users with hailing rides from the Arlington kiosks, along with printed advertisements.

HRI (Human-Robot-Interaction) Panels

Designed all Gen. 1 External HRI Panel Designs in preparation of drive.ai’s Texas deployment; collaborating with our Principal Designer, Mechanical Design Engineers, and Software Engineers.

The external LED panels assist everyday people who encounter the self-driving vans with helpful interpretations of what the van is “thinking” as it drives.

After the initial success I assisted with the Gen. 2 External HRI Panel Designs, focusing on animation & simplified text
