Synack Stands Logo

Background

The murder of George Floyd in May of 2020 generated a wave of pledges of support for greater DEI across corporate America. In an effort to increase diversity, equity, inclusion, & belonging in the workplace, Synackers from all departments stepped up to host meetings, programs, and projects to better educate not only internal employees, but the cyber community as well.

Challenge

To create a logo that promoted the DEIB mindset of Synackers, versatility of both print and digital mediums, while remaining on brand.

Solution

The Synack Stands logo combines the “We Are a Team” value of Synack, along with a blue tinted world, held up by a diverse set of hands.

Synack Values

Background

A single wall at the old Synack HQ, displayed a word cloud of various inspiring slogans, that no one seemed to acknowledge. Up until 2020, it wasn’t clear what the Synack values were. A cross departmental task force was formed to define a proper set of values that embodies Synack.

Challenge

Design icons that represent the newly defined Synack Values: Trustworthy, Transparent, Inclusive, Innovative, Accountable, and We Are A Team. Incorporate brand colors (Blue Team / Red Team). Must be successful in both digital & print settings.

Solution

Using primary and secondary Synack brand colors with minimalist iconography, the 6 Synack values were created. Digitally: The icons were presented to the company during an All Hands, displayed on the company intranet, and added to the custom Slack emojis library, for Synackers to call out one another for representing a value. Printed: The icons were made into stickers, which were added to new hire gift boxes and various other swag packages.

Sales Patches

Background

The VP of Sales wanted a new & fun way to award the Top Sales Team Members of the Quarter (and eventual Year). Working alongside the Executive Assistant, it was decided that 5 embroidered patches would be created to accompany a letterman type jacket.

Challenge

Research and source a vendor to optimize production, minimize cost, while not sacrificing quality. Design 5 unique embroidered patches that state the name of each award, include the Synack logo, and remain on brand.

Solution

The 2020 year brought many new challenges, but the Synack Sales Team fought & prevailed through the obstacles, with a few outstanding members truly deserving of a championship belt. Through two rounds of revisions, “Rookie of the Quarter”, “SDR of the Quarter”, “ISR of the Quarter”, “You Made This Possible”, and “Hustle & Grind” patches were brought to life; and with their success, additional “X of the Year” patches were requested.

Recipe Book

Background

While it may not be an official company value, it is safe to say that Synackers value food and the way it brings the team together. Whether it was trying new cultural food at an engineering lunch & learn, a guilty pleasure feast of fast food at the weekly happy hour, having a friendly ‘cheers’ with a colleague at the annual Sales Kickoff, or simply sharing a quick pic of a personal family meal from the weekend on the #food slack channel. With the 2020 lockdown in full swing, the upcoming holiday season was definitely going to look a bit different.

Challenge

Find a way to boost morale that involves Bay Area employees, as well as remote domestic, and international employees. Complete before ‘holiday break’.

Solution

Following a remote networking event, with fellow newly remote Office Ninjas, the idea of a recipe book was shared. The perfect way to involve all Synackers, include a passion for food, and pave the way to easily become a tradition, even after potentially returning to an office. After reaching out to all employees, collecting stories and recipes from 12 Synackers, a 52 page interactive, Synack branded, recipe book was formed.

The final copy allows Synackers to easily jump to specific recipes by clicking on their desired recipe / page number. Recipes are categorized by Breakfast, Appetizers, Lunch & Dinner, and Drinks & Desserts.
